Immunoglobulin light chains.lambda

This urine test detects lambda immunoglobulin light chains, which are protein building blocks of antibodies. Normally present in small amounts, elevated levels in urine may indicate kidney damage, multiple myeloma, or other plasma cell disorders. The presence of light chains in urine (proteinuria) suggests the kidney's filtering capacity is compromised and cannot retain these proteins, requiring further investigation into kidney function and potential disease.
