FDA Black Box Warning

Warnings and Precautions (5.1) [see] Elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis treated with antipsychotic drugs are at an increased risk of death. Risperidone tablets are not approved for the treatment of patients with dementia-related psychosis.

When this intervention should not be used

Risperidone tablets are contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to either risperidone or paliperidone, or to any of the excipients in the risperidone tablets formulation.
